Psyop teams up with Barbarian Group to present the augmented reality Esquire issue. This technology takes advantage of printed matter and it enables you to interact with any computer that has a webcam. As you put the magazine in front of the computer screen it will project an animation that the viewer can interact with. Every time you flip it or turn it, it cues up another part of the animation. It’s pretty ingenious actually.
I first found the technology here at this guy’s blog, where he added an animation to his business card. You can take his card home and it will project and animation onto your screen of him talking.
All this technology just reminds me that we are one step closer to making the Princess Leah hologram possible.
